A Community Success!

After a year of planning and fundraising — capped off by six days of nearly around-the-clock hard work by more than 500 community volunteers and support from dozens of local businesses and organizations — Winthrop Elementary School has a new playground. What was built, however, is so much more than swings, slides, a zip line, boulder scrambles, beautiful landscaping, and all the other play structures and features: The tight-knit community of Ipswich became even closer. New friendships were formed; old friendships were strengthened; and — most important of all — the kids who watched the work through the windows of their classrooms witnessed a poignant lesson: Working together towards a common goal, for the collective good of the community, strengthens the entire community and everyone involved. Thank you Volunteers and Supporters!
